Few people know what ambient lighting is. Or how it can be used. Both are a shame. In today's article, we'll fix that.
What is ambient lighting?
Ambient lighting is "mood" lighting using LED strips, LED panels or lamps to add atmosphere to a darkened room while watching TV, playing on the computer or otherwise relaxing in front of a screen.
What are the other benefits of ambient lighting?
You're familiar with that feeling of watching TV for an extended period of time in the evening, but after a while you start squinting because your eyes are burning. And you've probably experienced an evening shift at the home office that left your eyes much more tired than your head.
Both were for the same reason - your eyes were fixated on only one light source. They were focused on a small illuminated area, so they had to blink and refocus frequently. Because of this, they began to dry out, burn, and soon became tired.
With ambient lighting, none of this is a threat. This indirect light source, thanks to its gentle diffusion of light, will not only make your rest more pleasant, but also save your eyes, which adapt easily to dark environments.
Where does ambient lighting fit in?
In the bedroom, the living room or even the study. In short, anywhere you spend time in front of a screen in the evening. And it doesn't matter if you're watching Netflix, playing Counter Strike or filling out Excel spreadsheets.
Ambient lighting is most often installed behind a monitor or TV so that you perceive the light emitted by it along with the light of the device you're running. This creates a pleasant environment that is easy on the eyes so you can work or relax without any problems.
