Lighting That Brought New Radiance to the Church of St. Stefan in Croatia
The renovation of the Orthodox Church of St. Stefan in Borovo was a truly exceptional project, and we were honored to play a part in it. The client envisioned lighting that would do more than simply illuminate the space—it needed to enhance the church’s spiritual and aesthetic atmosphere. The result? Four elegant wall fixtures and two exquisite crystal chandeliers, accented with golden tubes that reflect not only light but also the rich symbolism of Orthodox tradition.
These tubes, known as decorative sleeves beneath the bulbs, are a subtle yet essential detail. They conceal the technical components of the fixtures, ensuring a seamless, harmonious design. In this project, the golden hue of the tubes was chosen to symbolize divine light and eternity—core elements of Orthodox iconography.

Why Golden Tubes?
Gold holds deep significance in Orthodox iconography, symbolizing divine light and eternity. The design for this lighting drew directly from the client's wish to create fixtures that would harmonize with the church's richly ornamented vaults while standing out with understated elegance. The centerpiece—a grand crystal chandelier with a graceful silhouette—features 24 bulbs arranged across two tiers. Its shimmering crystals are designed to evoke the mystical quality of light, a vital element in the spiritual experience.

Collaboration and the Final Touch
Throughout the project, we worked hand in hand with the restoration team to ensure the historical integrity of the church was respected. Every step of the installation process was carefully monitored to seamlessly integrate the new lighting with the church's original design.
This project was a poignant reminder that light is much more than a practical necessity—it is a symbol of hope, beauty, and spirituality. We are incredibly proud to have contributed to this endeavor, which beautifully merges the rich heritage of the Orthodox Church with the refinement of modern design.
