How to easily clean a crystal chandelier?

Is cleaning a chandelier laborious?

So if you clean your chandelier once a year, a dry cloth or duster may not be enough. It needs to be cleaned "wet".

Fortunately, long gone are the days when it was necessary to dismantle the chandelier and remove the individual vases and bowls. You had to take off all the crystal chains and trimmings and wash them by hand in a laver. At best with spring water or vinegar, at worst with abrasive or aggressive cleaners that can scratch the chandelier parts.

Soda or soap was not a good choice either, as soap leaves a greasy film. After washing, it was necessary to spread all the parts on a towel and let them dry. And also wash the metal parts of the luminaire. At the same time, this lengthy process was also a bit of a risk, as it was possible that parts of the chandelier could accidentally break. Finding a replacement part is not a joyful job. And also, remembering which part and trim belongs where! :-)

In today's hectic times, when time is precious for many people, we have a modern helper at hand. This is a special cleaning spray designed specifically for cleaning crystal chandeliers.

So how do you go about cleaning a crystal chandelier?

Make sure the chandelier is unplugged, turn it off and let the bulbs cool. Unscrew them and seal the bulb sockets, e.g. with cotton swabs. Spread an old sheet, tablecloth or plastic under the chandelier. Spray the chandelier thoroughly with cleaning spray. A 750 ml spray is sufficient for about 2-3 cleanings (in the case of a medium-sized 6-8 arm chandelier).

Any dirt will dissolve and run off on its own, dripping down onto the mat. The product is also formulated for fasteners (rivets and hooks) and metal parts, so you don't have to worry about unsightly stains or other damage.

After dripping the cleaner, check that the entire chandelier is dry and that there is no moisture in the bulb sockets or in the bottom tray that covers the chandelier's electrical wiring. You can remove any moisture, for example with a hairdryer. Then just screw the bulbs back in place, turn on the lights and enjoy your beautifully sparkling crystal chandelier again.
