Celebrating the most memorable moments of 2024

The year 2024 marked a milestone in our history, filled with celebrations and remarkable projects where our crystal chandeliers shone not only at home but across the globe. Let’s take a moment to reflect on the moments that inspired us.
Celebrating 300 years of tradition
Three centuries of crystal lighting craftsmanship have taken us on a fascinating journey through history. It all began in 1724 with glassmaker Elias Palme, who introduced Czech crystal to the world and laid the foundation for the artistry that continues to adorn the most beautiful interiors today. Throughout the year, we commemorated this rich legacy with a series of articles highlighting key milestones in Czech glassmaking.
The centerpiece of our celebrations was the Crystal Valley Week festival in August, where we unveiled a replica of a historic Maria Theresa chandelier on the balcony of the Liberec Town Hall. This iconic design, originally created to honor the coronation of Maria Theresa, remains a timeless symbol of elegance and masterful craftsmanship.
The Máj Project: 300 Fixtures in 21 Days
Our most ambitious project of the year was the installation of over 300 crystal fixtures in the newly renovated Máj department store in Prague. The highlights include two majestic Maria Theresa chandeliers, each two meters in diameter, greeting visitors with their brilliance at the entrance.
On the second floor, a "crystal sky" composed of 142 fixtures transforms every gourmet pause into an unforgettable experience. The crowning jewel is a six-meter chandelier weighing 800 kilograms, suspended above the bar in the Fly Vista restaurant, becoming the glowing centerpiece of the entire space.
In just 21 days, our team of installers transformed this iconic location into a masterpiece that imbued Máj with a unique character.
New Store: Crystal in the Heart of Prague
The Máj department store also became home to our new retail space. Since November, visitors have been able to browse hundreds of our crystal chandeliers and accessories – from luxurious lighting fixtures to elegant vases and glassware. This step has brought the tradition of Czech crystal closer to both local customers and international visitors to Prague.
Crystal Projects Around the World
Light has the power to transform any space into something extraordinary. In 2024, our projects took Czech crystal beyond borders and continents. Here are some of the highlights:
• Restaurants: In the prestigious Maison Pucha restaurant in Houston, crystal chandeliers enhance the sophistication of fine dining. In Las Vegas, they adorn a luxury venue, where their sparkle perfectly complements the city's vibrant energy. Meanwhile, in Poland's Bianco bistro, crystal adds a touch of fresh elegance and cozy charm.
• Private Homes and Villas: From a historic villa in the Czech Republic to modern homes in Switzerland and Germany, and elegant residences in Poland and Lithuania – Czech crystal illuminated interiors across Europe. Each home gained a unique character, blending timeless elegance with the subtle glow of crystal.
• Historic Venues: The Old Rectory in Ireland became a romantic wedding destination, where crystal chandeliers create an unforgettable atmosphere. On the Azores, our chandeliers grace an 18th-century town hall, elevating it to a true architectural gem admired by all.
Tradition and Innovation for Future Generations
As our director, Vítězslav Tomeš, remarked: "The tradition Elias Palme began in 1724 continues to shape life in our region and bring joy to future generations. Whether classic or equipped with modern features, our lighting fixtures carry forward a legacy that connects us all."
We thank you, our customers and partners, for being part of this extraordinary year. We look forward to collaborating on new projects in 2025, which, like our chandeliers, promises to shine with brilliance, elegance, and inspiration.
