How to easily clean a crystal chandelier? Watch this video
If your interior is decorated with a crystal chandelier, it deserves a proper cleaning at least once a year. Only then will you fully enjoy its perfect sparkle and beauty. Does this idea scare you? Don't despair. Read this article, in which we will advise you on how to do it.
Is thorough cleaning of a chandelier laborious?
So if you clean your chandelier once a year, a dry cloth or duster will probably not be enough. Fortunately, the days when you had to disassemble the chandelier, remove individual vases and bowls are long gone. Remove all crystal chains and trimmings and wash them by hand in the sink. At best, with spring water or vinegar, at worst, with abrasive or aggressive cleaning agents that can scratch the chandelier parts.
Soda or soap were not a good choice either, because soap leaves a greasy film. After washing, it was necessary to spread all the parts out on a towel and let them dry. And also to wash the metal parts of the lamp. At the same time, this lengthy process was also a bit risky, as individual parts of the chandelier could have accidentally broken. Finding a complicated replacement part is not a pleasant job. And also, remembering where each part and trim belongs! :-)
In today's busy world, when time is precious for many people, we have a modern helper at hand.
So how do you clean a crystal chandelier?
Make sure that the chandelier is unplugged, turn it off and let the bulbs cool down. Unscrew them and seal the sockets with cotton swabs, for example. Spread an old sheet, tablecloth or plastic wrap under the chandelier. Spray the chandelier thoroughly with the cleaning spray. A 750 ml spray will be enough for about 2-3 cleanings (in the case of a medium-sized 6-8-arm chandelier). Let it work.
All dirt will dissolve and drain away on its own, dripping down onto the sheet. The product is also suitable for fasteners (rivets and hooks between the trimmings) and metal parts, so you don't have to worry about them leaving unsightly stains or being damaged in any other way.
After the product has dripped off, check that the entire chandelier is dry and there is no moisture in the bulb sockets or in the lower bowl that covers the chandelier's electrical wiring. You can remove any moisture with a hairdryer, for example. Then all you have to do is screw the bulbs back into place, turn them on, and enjoy the beautifully sparkling crystal chandelier again.
Does it seem simple to you? Try it and see for yourself. We use the product too. We use it to clean the lamps displayed in our showroom, where there are over 200 of them. And we can't imagine life without this cleaner.
